Holistic Health & Wellness Resources at The-Wellness-Institute with Special Guest Permelia Parham
About this episode
Welcome Back No-Problem Parents!
Health is so important on all levels. As a parent,my guest was always available for her children when they needed to talk about a health issue – whether it was physical, emotional or mental.
Being aware of what goes on at their schools is very important. Permelia was fortunate to connect with her children’s schools and their teachers. When she discovered her children were not feeling challenged enough at one school, she switched them to another school that supported their learning styles, so they continued to be engaged in learning.

Turn behavior problems into no problem with Jackie Fineman. Are you ready to become the confident leader your kids crave you to be? Do you want to learn how to make parenting easier and more fulfilling? Whether you are at your wits end or you want to have more fun as a parent, you're definitely in the right place.
Now here's your host, Jackie Fineman. Let me introduce you to Pramila Parham. She is the founder and principal of the Healing Institute, attending virtual networking groups for nearly two years. Pramila has met other like-minded holistic practitioners from all over the world who are looking for a way to share their healing gifts.
Pramilia feels she has been divinely guided to create this virtual global healing platform, connecting holistic practitioners with people seeking ways to be well and to stay well on their health journey. The Healing Institute presently has 28 practitioners representing eight counties. Welcome to the show, Pramilia. Thank you so much, Jackie.
And just to let you, I know you have counties in the U.S. We have provinces up here. So it's actually eight countries.
So yes, we have almost 28 practitioners and representing eight countries. So that is just letting people know that we are global and we are virtual. So the practitioners are able to do whatever their modality is, whatever their healing gift is, they're able to do that over Zoom or the phone. They're able to do it virtually.
good majority of the practitioners that are in this community of yours are doing some some sort of energy work so what is energy work okay great question uh so we're not taught that we're not taught that we're made up of energy energy is vibration uh people don't even know that there is a international worldwide vibratory grit it's invisible you can't see it but it's there so when people say we're really connected, we really are connected. So we have to, we were part, part of the Institute is to teach people how we are connected, how we're connected energetically, how this can happen. And most of whether we're, our health, our health is all designed around our energy. We're made of energy. We're not, again, it's not something that we're taught.
we're taught this is the human form this is the physical person um but that's not necessarily true so we do have we are made up of energy um so energy can be anywhere and the work that i do um i connect with the client my client's subconscious they give me permission to do that but they're subconscious in the body code emotion code work that i do your subconscious holds all of can hold all of these emotions that could be running the show. And they could be, they could be emotionally, there could be an emotional deterrent, a physical deterrent, an energetic deterrent, as well as a spiritual deterrent and physical deterrent. So it's very important.
And it's fascinating to me. I'm just learning about this. I've done energy work before I've, I've, you know, participated in some of that. I have not heard of the body code.
And so I had to look that up. I had to find a little bit more information. And your website, the Healing Institute, it's very educational for somebody who just has no idea. Like, what is this? Is this voodoo stuff? I mean, this is fascinating, scientific. It's an energy balancing system, right?
Yeah, so emotional and energy balancing system. So it was created by Dr. Bradley Nelson. He was a chiropractor for many years.
He would treat his patients and they would go away and they kept coming back. He's a very spiritual man. So he was like, something more is going on here. It's not just physical.
It's got to be emotional. And he believes in energy. He believes in the fact that we are made of energy. We're made of vibration.
so you've heard of the law of attraction the vibration you give out the vibration you're going to get back well that's all part of energy and so he created the protocol that we use and it's all connected to us being our very best version of ourself so our subconscious is true to who we are to find out what these trapped emotions are and where they are in the body. We muscle test and our muscles are true to who we are. And then to release the trapped emotion as a practitioner, I'm the client's proxy because they give me permission to do that.
I just take a magnet and I run it over my governing meridian. And the magnetic quality connects to the electromagnetic field, which is our aura, which again is true to who we are. And that's stronger than the trapped emotion. So it releases the trapped emotion.
And these trapped emotions can be released for physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual issues. It just works amazing. So this is fascinating because I work so much with early childhood attachment when there's been a break in attachment. And oftentimes it's trauma that the mom experienced in utero while she was carrying the baby, or maybe it's early life separation.
A baby is given up for adoption. uh maybe the baby endured some medical pain yeah or abuse or neglect in those first few years of life or maybe they were in an orphanage and given basic care you know but not the emotional care and there's different types of trapped emotion so you're going to understand this just from what you've described there's one called prenatal so what something was going on with the mother while the mother was pregnant with the with the baby but the mother didn't keep the trapped emotion the trapped emotion got passed on to the baby. So you would never know that unless you, you know, went through a process to find out what these trapped emotions are. There's inherited trapped emotions, you could inherit these trapped emotions, they go back many generations on either side of your family, your mother's side of the family, or their your father's side of the family, you can absorb other people's trapped emotions and not even realize that you if you know,
many of us are very empathetic. We're very sensitive. And so we can pick up on other people's energy and trapped emotions without really realizing that we've done that. I can imagine this would be good for people who are in the helping profession, who often take on maybe or feel that empathy or that just really they're sponges to other people's emotion or pain. So is this something that you'd want to do regularly?
Well, it is something that you can do over and over time. Again, I often, I teach my clients as well that they can protect themselves. So there's an energetic protection that I learned from my teacher that I studied with over 20 years ago. And it's just really putting that energy of white light sort of surrounding yourself like you're in a bubble, like an egg.
And white light protects who we are. And then there's another layer that I always add, which is called opalescent light, which deflects negativity. So, you know, quite honestly, I don't have any negative people around me. I think they just kind of may come closer to my aura and they go, I don't want to be around her.
So which is fine with me. Tell us a little bit more about the body system, balance, maybe emotional wellness, all that. How does that work when you're maybe give us some actual examples of clients that have come to you? Like, what can you tell us about some real life examples that people who work with you are coming to you with? Yes, thank you for that. So there's a gentleman who actually has body code, but he comes to me when he can't clear it himself. And so wait, wait, wait, what do you mean by he has body code? He knows how to do the process himself. He's learned how to be a body code practitioner. Oh, gotcha. And I've done that as well to with another gentleman who's got more experience than I have as being. I haven't done it in a while, but I was having some I was having some physical issues and I couldn't clear them myself.
So I signed up for some of his sessions. And interestingly enough, he found some emotions that I'd had back when I was 18, which I remembered the situation. I remembered what was going on with me then. I was not in a good place.
but I didn't realize that those emotions that were still trapped in the subconscious and still now starting to pray play havoc with my my knees and and my back and things like that so so this client that came to me he's in his 70s he he had done his own work done some work on himself but again he had very strong neck pain and shoulder pain and so during the sessions that we did together, I found that there was an incident that happened back in his 40s. And he'd lost a job. Now he was a, you know, he was a dad, a husband, a father wanted to, you know, he was part of bringing income into the house. So this was a very traumatic event for him to have lost this job, and had to go, then go look for another job to be able to support the household. And he knew, he consciously had remembered that as this came up. Because one of the things we do when we find these trapped emotions, we'll say, well, what age were you when this trapped emotion got stuck? So we'll just find out what age the client was when it got stuck. So that's how come we knew it was in his 40s. And And then he remembered the incident of losing his job.
So what had happened is that those trapped emotions of regret, rejection, grief, sorrow, those kinds of trapped emotions had got stuck. These are balls of negative energy. They've got stuck in not only his subconscious, but also in his body. So that's why this neck and shoulder pain was showing up.
So we released them and they were gone. So they were connected to that event. So then his neck and shoulder pain went away. Totally.
That's fascinating. It is. It is very fascinating. You shared a story with me before we started recording.
And I was like, oh my gosh, we need to be recording about a young child, maybe 10-ish years old. What was the situation with him? Would you share that with our audience? Yeah, yes.
And his mother's given me permission to share even his name, although I won't today. But yeah, so he was a lovely little boy, 10 years old. I got to know his mom quite well. And I had in being a friend with her, I knew that he had had a very traumatic birth, that he had almost died.
And so when she was telling me that he was having some behavior issues at school, he who's for the most part being a you know he was a very loving little boy but every now and again he would just lash out and it was kind of like he didn't even he wasn't able to control what was happening and so he'd lash out to his younger sister or he'd be having some issues in the playground at school so she brought him to me we did it in person because she's a neighbor and so we did his session in person and I did find some very strong emotions like horror and terror and panic that we released out of his subconscious. And now, of course, consciously, he was he was just an infant, he was brand new born. So he had no cognitive remembrance of any of these, right? Pre verbal, right? Yeah, totally. And so, so, and so he was very open to what was happening. And he understood what we were doing. And so a couple of days later,
I was talking to my friend and I said, oh, okay, well, how is he doing? And she's like, well, not only did the principal come up to me and say, what have you done with him? Because his behavior is so different. Not only was he not starting fights in the playground, he was actually helping other children in the playground and his behavior had just completely and 100% changed.
And then the other part, which I just find fascinating, and we didn't even talk about this that it was an issue apparently he had been having a real challenge at settling down and and reading and so the same day as she went to collect him from school his teacher came up to him with a chapter book in her hand and said that he'd gone to the library he'd picked this book he came back for reading time and sat down and read the book throughout reading time which that was the first Now, this is probably, I'm trying to think, this was all about three quarters of the way through the year, the school year.
So this behavior had just completely changed. Wow, that is just fascinating to me. What kinds of, describe how it works a little bit, because you can see people in person, you can see them over Zoom, but you also don't even have to meet them? No.
Is that true? No. So people, I've done other sessions. I do sessions with animals.
I've done sessions with other children where I haven't met them in person or haven't even talked to them over Zoom. Their parents have just, you know, obviously, if they're under age, then the parents have to give me permission. So it's just permission to connect up with the subconscious. And our subconscious is really true to who we are.
So the three elements, and this is what I love about the protocol that Dr. Bradley Nelson put together, is because all parts, all three parts, which I'll explain, are all really true to who we are. They're all wanting us to be at our highest level of consciousness, to be our best version of ourself. So our subconscious is very, very true to who we are.
are to find out what the trapped emotion is and where in the body it might be. We muscle test or I muscle test because I'm the proxy. The client or the parent will give me permission or the owner of the animal give me permission to be their proxy. So I'll do the muscle testing.
Again, our muscles are true to who we are. They don't lie. I mean, I'm sure people have seen the strong arm test or the sway test. You know, when you say your name and you sway forward, it's your name.
If you say a name that's not yours, your body will sway back. So it's very true. Our muscles are very congruent and very true to who we are. And then to release the trapped emotion, we run a magnet over the governing meridian, which is our meridian, our main meridian in our body.
And the magnetic quality of the magnet, which connects then to our aura or our electromagnetic field, which again is very true to who we are, is stronger than the trapped emotion. So that's what releases the trapped emotion. So how do you run the magnet over the main meridian? If the child or the person is not there, you run it.
I just do it because I do it over myself because I'm now that person. They've given me permission to be there. What I call proxy. So this really works.
It totally works. I don't mean to be a skeptic. I'm not. No, no.
I'm sure there's lots of people out there that are. um because I wonder why if this is so successful I mean I can just see this saving a lot of people a lot of heartache absolutely behaviorally with their their kids of course I'm a parenting coach and so I honestly honestly Jackie I wish I had known about this when my my children were little and I was parenting them I wish I had known but I definitely had known what about this and And I mean, I was pretty tuned into them anyway, just because I didn't want to make the same mistakes my parents made with me.
So I listened. And even, you know, even I had a friend one day who said to me, I was having some issues with my daughter, who was the second child. And she said, oh, for goodness sakes, Pramilia, give her a break. And she's talking about Myers-Briggs.
She's a P living in a house full of Js. So if anybody's done Myers-Briggs understands what that is. But, you know, like her father and myself and her older brother were all there. We were all very kind of organized and, you know, did things logistically where where my daughter was like, she's the free spirit.
She she is really how we all want to live, like in the moment. Right. Right. But because when she was two, she wasn't kind of fitting into the family.
and so thank goodness I'm just so grateful that I had this friend who used to teach Myers-Briggs and she saw it right away and I was like oh my goodness I'm trying to make this dear little child fit into this form that she's not meant to fit into okay so you know what so I've always been very kind of open about making sure that I wasn't you know that I could be the best parent I could possibly be right and let the kids be the individuals that they are and kind of learn about them and all that. But this is, this is just really fascinating stuff to me. And so let's, this is just one of the modalities that you offer at the Healing Institute. And so can you share with us a little bit more, people can go to your website and have the link in the show notes for it.
I highly recommend you just go parents and scour this website. There are all these different services that you're providing that you're almost 30 practitioners and you're growing. They're still expanding and building this, um, are providing that have to do with emotional healing, energy healing, integrated healing. You have a variety of therapies and then also coaching. Yes. And I'm joining your group in that I'll be one of the parent coaches in, um, yes. I'm very excited about that. I am too. And I'm excited to learn some of these other modalities as well. I'm an avid learner, so I love this stuff. Uh, but tell us a little bit about what the purpose of the, of the site is and some of the different modalities that people are okay well I got this idea when COVID hit and I did have an office in the small town where I live um on Vancouver Island in Canada um and of course everything got shut down now I'm so blessed that I'm able to do my body code emotion code work over zoom I think we had Skype back then that's how long ago it was and um and do it distance. So I didn't have to shut down my business, but there was a lot of companies that had to shut down because they were bricks and mortar. And now we're all locked down for three months or more. But it gave me the opportunity to start being part of these networking, online networking platforms. So I was meeting holistic practitioners from all over the world. So
initially, I had thought that I would have a building here in the small city where I live, on Vancouver Island, we could do yoga retreats in the building, we could do workshops, you know, practitioners could come and see their clients if they wanted. But then, of course, you know, that didn't happen when COVID hit. And then when I started, I started meeting practitioners from all over the world, I'm like, okay, this is not what I'm going to be doing. I'm not going to be doing a building on Vancouver Island. No, God's like, nope, Pramilia. That's why I feel I'm being divinely led because it's kind of been a journey for me to find out about holistic practitioners in the countries that already that we're in, eight countries. So I'll just name them like Canada, obviously, United States, Mexico, England, Ireland, South Africa, India, Germany, that's the ones I have practitioners in right now. And we're going to be expanding, of course, Australia,
New Zealand, that's where I want to go as well. As some, I just had talked to somebody who's going to introduce me to a practitioner in Indonesia. I'm like, yes, we need to, we need to heal the world. And I really truly believe that the world is ready for us now. Maybe not before COVID hit, we had the pandemic, because people didn't under really understand about energy healing, and how, you know, we we went to the doctor, that's what we were told. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with allopathic medicine, absolutely not. But there is another way to be well and to stay well. And you can do it from a holistic point of view without the medications that may have lots of side effects that could make your condition even worse than what it is. But that's part of the education. And then that's why I'm calling it the Healing Institute, because I'm really passionate about educating the public about the ways that we can be well and stay well. Educating people about our bodies and how smart they are, we can actually heal ourselves. You know, we're not taught that growing up. We're not taught that, you know, your body is really smart and it can heal itself. So, so yes. So we have many practitioners, 20, almost 28 practitioners now,
and they can do things like I have one practitioner it's called heart math. So nobody's really heart math. Yes. Yes. Who's heard of heart math? Well, what is that? That is scientifically been proven and there's a heart math institute in California, scientifically been proven that our hearts have a brain. It's really our heart brain that connects to the cognizant brain. It's not the other way around, which is what we've been trained and taught. So it's our heart that's got the vibration.
It's our heart that's telling the rest of our body what's going on. So we really need to listen to what that is. So she, this practitioner is amazing. She does a number of other different things, but one of the things that she does with the, the, the heart math is letting, you know, doing a session with people to let them know how they can connect into their heart vibration and their heart energy and how that, how that works. And that heart math can improve. Anybody has anxiety, has increased stress, trouble sleeping, short-term memory, just hard time remembering things, fatigue, decision-making, that kind of thing. You know, I'd forgotten about that. I learned about HeartMap probably 15 years ago. Yeah, 15 years ago. So that's a great modality.
What else do you have? Well, I have a number of practitioners that do what we call EFT or tapping. People have heard of a tapping. So it stands EFT stands for emotional freedom technique.
So taking clients to find out where the tapping needs to be done. And again, this this really heals trauma. It heals a lot of emotional as well as physical issues that are happening. we're just starting to learn I think that the emotional issues that we have are now affecting our physical health whereas before we just thought physical health was physical health you know if you were emotional you were emotional and you weren't supposed to be yes but I often say now you know what we got into trouble for when we were when we were young is probably our gift so I was always asking too many questions and I was always way too sensitive That's what I was always getting into trouble for. I'm like, well, that's who I am. And now that's my gift. So yeah, the emotional freedom technique that works so, so well. I'm just looking at sound healing. Oh, my goodness.
I had a client who's got a lot of autoimmune issues and she wanted to know if there's a certain gigahertz where healing starts. Now, I'd never heard of this, but I have sound healers that are part of my institute. So I reached out to them and and I did find that, yes, there is there is a certain vibration. Again, we're talking about vibration and the gigahertz are 432.
That's the number that you want to be at in order to for the healing to start. So interesting. So interesting. And I love that you can, again, parents, you can go to the-healing-institute.com to learn more about all these different modalities they have, again, for emotional healing, energy healing, integrated healing.
I mean, you have literally, you have so much on here. There are so many great approaches and modalities and getting to what I say in No Problem Parenting, seek first to understand why is my child behaving the way they are? And it's not all, you know, for many years in parenting, we're talking about behavior, behavior and behavior mod and, you know, discipline and consequence and all of that. But a lot of times we have to think about there is people don't just misbehave because they want to misbehave.
They're not feeling well. Yeah. And that might be physically. That might be mentally.
It might be emotionally, energetically. They're not feeling well. Yeah. So people may be wondering what is integrated in integrating health, integrated health.
So I just want people to know I have a holistic nurse. We have a holistic nutrition, a couple of holistic nutritionists, registered holistic nutritionists. that's all kind of the autoimmune I have an autoimmune specialist she's totally understands on autoimmune the different diseases that there are so just so that people can understand that that's kind of what's in the the the rest of them are a little bit self-explanatory like energy healing and emotional healing and coaching and therapies but integrated healing is what the practitioners have explained to me there's a number of modalities that they kind of interweave for that for when they're when they're talking to to a client so yeah that is so great all right well we're gonna have to wrap it up there's I'm gonna have to have you on again to talk about some of these other services modalities modalities I keep saying modalities yeah there's but there are just so many really neat things out there and we don't know what we don't know that's exactly true You know, it's like, it's not just about, yes, I'm so happy that mental health is more, you know, accepted and we're making some progress on that. And talk therapy is not for everyone. And it's not necessarily even a good investment sometimes if you are basically functioning, you know, pretty well, but you don't know why you don't know.
like some people will say to me, well, Jackie, I don't really feel like I had any past trauma. You know, I don't really feel like, I feel like I lived a pretty good life or I've had a pretty good upbringing and they don't really. And so it's like, I don't want, what would I say to the therapist? I don't know what I would talk about or what I would do, but you know, something's wrong.
It's like, you still know, you're not feeling right. You're not feeling well, there's something off and your doctor's not figuring anything out or you're, you know, you go to therapy and you're like, okay, I think I'm good, but there's still something that's not right. I mean, I just think it's great that you're educating people and you have a resource, a page, a website like this, that people can really just search around and all of your practitioners offer free consultations, free calls. So you, you can just pick, you can call up and say, Hey, is this for me? Is, does Does this feel right to me? Is it something I would need?
And we're a community. So, and I've talked to, like, as I'm talking to all the practitioners, one of my very important values is that if you had a client and you worked with the client, but you could see that another practitioner in the community could help the client, are you okay with then recommending that other practitioner? And everybody says yes. so we'll we're even forming um and we'll be forming um groups so if a client comes to me i've had a few clients now who have sleep issues now i want to get on a zoom call with the other practitioners who offer sleep sleep as a modality or how to get better at sleep um as a modality and i want to have i want i want to have a chat with them or as many practitioners who want to have a chat together so that we can give the plan we can make a plan and give it back to the client so we're helping the client on their health journey it's not just okay they showed up and we couldn't help them or we thought we helped them but we didn't help them really um so we're really really want to give them that support that's so cool very cool well i'm excited to partner with you and get started with you uh and become one of your practitioners um and and part of this community and i am also excited that you are a sponsor of no problem parenting You've just signed up for that.
And so we're going to be promoting this Healing Institute for the next several months and getting the word out. And I'm going to be sending lots of people your way to this website because I just love what you're doing. It's if people are stuck and they don't know, you know, they're like, I think I've tried everything or I don't know where to start. Check out the healing institute.com, the dash healing dash institute.com.
We got to make sure we get the right one and or reach out to Pramilia and I will have all of her information in the show notes, including you are on social media. Yes. Well, and thank you so much, Jackie. I'm really excited to be partnered with you because I feel, you know, I'm a parent.
My children now in their 30s, but I know what it's like when they're little and they're small and you're trying to figure it out. And even when they get to be those teenagers and just to be able to say, you know, to be able to give the children a way of being at their best and their healthiest, whether it's physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. I'm just really, really excited to be to be part of and and and be part of your of what you're doing, because I think what you're doing is amazing.
it's so important as parents to we don't we're you know we become parents but you know there's no school to tell us yeah right right there's a there's a manual out there there's a bazillion manuals out there but they don't have it you know they don't all fit your specific situation as a parent right my brother always used to laugh about that he's like don't parent Emmanuel he's like google it they're all over the place but it's finding the right one but really you know I'm about helping parents become confident in their leadership skills with their kids. If we're parenting from fear or worry or frustration, it starts with us. We got to get ourselves back on track so that we can be better leaders for our kids and then, and then help our kiddos out.
